Using Fluff as a commodity

Fluff is a new commodity we like to call an “E-commodity;” meaning environmental, ecological and economical. Fluff is now available in pellets of various sizes that can be safely stored, easily transported and gasified with minimal environmental controls. Fluff can be gasified to create steam and electricity, or processed to create high-yield synthetic fuels of all types. Because Fluff is pathogen-free and inert, there are no dangerous byproducts, and your process is truly environmentally friendly. An added benefit is the fact that the creation of Fluff has converted ordinary household garbage into a useful material that doesn’t add to our overflowing landfills and reduces the world’s carbon footprint. It’s a win-win scenario.

Using Fluff to reduce landfill use

Thousands of municipalities around the world are facing a growing problem: how to dispose of our municipal solid waste. The traditional answer is to purchase additional land for use as a repository, but many times that land is too expensive, politically sensitive, environmentally unsound, or just not available.

MSW was once a liability, but WastAway has created a process that converts trash into a valuable commodity that will increase recycling rates, reduce costs, increase efficiency or become a new revenue source.  All of this can be achieved without changing your existing collection service and routes.  There is also no need to sort recyclables at the curbside.  Only one container is needed (a real single-stream).

WastAway facilities can be located within existing transfer stations, at the existing landfill or a new location.  Because the process is handled entirely indoors, the process reduces the odor and unsightliness of a landfill.  Also, the process takes just 20 minutes to convert the trash into a pathogen-free, inert product called Fluff®.

Once processed, Fluff becomes an E-commodity: a new commodity that is environmental, ecological and economical., The municipality or contractor may determine the most beneficial use for Fluff in their community.  In its raw state, Fluff can be used as a soil amendment or growing medium for parks and public works projects, or even as a cover material to an existing landfill.  When pelletized, Fluff can be used as a refuse derived fuel that can be gasified to produce steam or generate renewable electricity to power municipal buildings, industry or be sold to the electrical grid. Synthetic fuels, made from Fluff may operate a fleet of vehicles or be sold commercially. Building, packing and freight materials can also be created using Fluff and new products are being tested.  It is up to the owner how to best harness the savings or new revenue stream.
